中国科学技术大学苏州高等研究院智能云计算中心筹建于2017年9月,以“构建具有海量数据智能处理能力的高能效智能云计算平台,服务于大数据、人工智能等新工科领域的教学科研及企业技术创新”为建设目标。2018年10月完成一期建设,并成为“中国科学技术大学超级计算中心苏州分中心”。
中心的主要任务为:面向人工智能应用,围绕异构计算软硬件系统设计,从应用层、系统层、结构层研究性能和功耗问题,针对终端和云端计算环境,提供软硬件协同优化方法;以国产智能处理器为基础,研制与开发高能效智能计算平台,并在智能终端设备、智能服务器、以及云计算中心推广应用;建设高能效计算基础设施,形成产学研创新平台,服务于人工智能科技创新、人才培养和产业发展。

中心下辖嵌入式系统实验室(苏州市重点实验室)和高能效智能计算联合实验室(与寒武纪公司联合成立),总占地600余平方米。中心在职人员20余人,在读研究生50余人,研究人员主要来源于中国科学技术大学苏州高等研究院、中国科学技术大学、以及校外兼职研究员。中心重点研究系统级设计、优化问题,主要研究方向包括:面向特定领域的异构多核体系结构(含智能处理器、异构计算系统),嵌入式系统(含实时系统、可重构计算系统),以及并行与分布式系统(含高性能计算系统、云计算系统)。

中心以国产智能芯片(寒武纪芯片)为基础,研发并建设了自主安全可控的100个节点高能效智能计算集群系统,设计并部署了超大容量的分布式存储系统,完成了多个典型示范应用系统的研发。
